NBC’s ‘Million Second Quiz’ Pairs Trivia With Social Media

The Voice is a huge hit, thanks in part to its strong integration of social TV and the second screen. Now NBC is hoping to replicate that success with a new live competition show airing this fall called The Million Second Quiz. From the description NBC released, The Million Second Quiz sounds like Big Brother meets Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. In Million Second Quiz, players compete in a 12-day, 24/7 competition that tests their knowledge and endurance. The show itself will be broadcast live from a gigantic hourglass-shaped structure in Manhattan, where the reigning champions in the game will also live. Taking the series beyond prime time, NBC calls it “the first fully convergent television experience.” Viewers will be able to tune in to a 24/7 live stream, play along at home in real time and use the second screen to sync alongside the prime-time broadcast.
