Ever wonder how Google decides what ads to serve you? A new feature will add a “Why These Ads?” icon next to ads in Google Search and Gmail. Google hopes this feature will make users feel less creeped out by customized offers. In other news, Research In Motion launched its BBM Music service that wants to make music sharing viral. For $5 a month user create a 50-song playlist that’s shareable with other subscribers. You can swap out 25 songs a month and listen to songs shared with you by friends. And finally, the ocean covers 75% of the earth, yet we know virtually nothing about it. The company Liquid Robotics has created a surfboard like satellite that measures things like waves and oil spills. A network of thousands of these Wave Gliders can replace ships that cost millions more.
