The U.K. prime minister recently called out Facebook, Twitter and RIM to take responsibility for the content pushed through their networks. The companies will soon meet with the prime minister and responded by removing some content that could incite violence. The government may be better off fighting social media, with social media. In other news, technology being developed by MIT scientists may be able to defend against any type of viral infection. The drug being developed works by detecting cells with infected RNA and triggering programmed cell suicide. Preliminary studies were successful on human cultures and mice. And finally, in less serious news, Google recently rolled out the ability to play games on its social network Google+. This will help challenge Facebook’s impressive time-on-site generated by addictions like Farmville, and makes another way for people to waste time at work.
