Microsoft recently launched a new advertising platform that utilizes the Kinect to make the ads interactive. Typical spots like 30-second commercials will allow users to interact with a few hand motions or voice controls. Voice controls will allow users to request more information, tweet about the commercial or search for nearest locations. In other news, if you’re debating about signing up with Verizon for its unlimited data plan, you should do it now to reap the benefits. All Things Digital reports that Verizon is switching to tiered pricing starting next month, with a 2GB plan costing $30 a month. With exponential growth of smartphone bandwidth consumption, it’s no surprise carriers are shying away from unlimited plans. And finally, the waning phone manufacturer Nokia recently unveiled its N9 smartphone along with three new feature phones. While Nokia partnered with Microsoft to bring Windows Phone 7 to its handsets, these devices are surprisingly lacking the new operating system. Nokia has been facing declining revenues and market share and doesn’t expect a profitable second quarter.
