Cisco Systems has introduced a new high-end videoconference system for the home. The “Umi” is aimed to compete with video chat services like Skype, but while Skype’s service is free, the umi retails for $599 plus a $24.99 monthly fee. The biggest difference between Cisco’s umi and other online videoconferencing services is the quality. When using umi a user experiences less frequent pixelationions and interruptions. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6954RG20101007?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FtechnologyNews+%28News+%2F+US+%2F+Technology%29&utm_content=Google+Reader
