FCC Will Release TV Spectrum For Broadband
The FCC unanimously voted to release unused Television spectrum for wireless broadband use. This is a major victory for tech-giants like Google, Microsoft and Dell who will now have access to the highly coveted “white space.” Consumers will benefit with faster Internet speeds, better mobile connectivity and broadband access in rural areas.

Cyber Worm Attacks Real-World Targets
Cyber security experts have identified a sophisticated “cyber worm” designed to attack and destroy a physical, real-world target like a factory or nuclear power plant. The worm called Stuxnet, was discovered in June and has been closely followed since. One expert believes that Stuxnet may have been responsible for the attack on Iran’s Bushener nuclear power plant.

NBC Won’t Give Apple TV Content
NBC won’t be giving Apple TV have access to its TV shows anytime soon. NBC believes 99 cents is not a suitable price point and would devalue NBC’s content.  ABC and FOX have both agreed to provide their programming to Apple’s set-top box, but FOX notes their decision is a “short-term test.”

Facebook Chief Executive Gets Charitable
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, is announcing a donation of up to $100 million to Newark schools today on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Schools in Newark are some of the poorest performing in the country with nearly half of its students not graduating from high school. This is 26-year-old Zuckerberg’s largest donation to date.
