Verizon Ending FiOS Expansion

Verizon is going to stop expanding its FiOS network. The fiber optic provider had been expanding the service for years, however, will stop after it finishes building the network in previously announced cities. The decision leaves many high speed broadband seekers in 32 states without the option of signing up for the powerful FiOS network.

Apple has sold out of its pre-saled alloted iPads. Customers who pre-order an iPad this week, will have to pick it up at an Apple Store on April 12th, nine days after the official launch date. Those who pre-ordered before the weekend will be able to pick up their iPads this coming Friday between 9am-3pm, with the tablet going on sale to the general public there after.

RapidShare wants to be known as a place to download high-quality, legal movies. The storage site is hoping to strike deals with Hollywood studios to direct users to legal versions of movies for sale. RapidShare GM Bobby Changed noted that “If a user finds out that several attempts to download an illegal copy of a DVD are in vain, and if his several attempts to ‘steal’ this DVD have just brought him to an online-store, he may finally be frustrated and willing to purchase a licensed version of this movie.”
