Airbnb is a great way to find a cheap place to stay or make a couple extra bucks by renting out spare space you have in your home. But the service wants to be known for more than just lodging, and its latest feature, “Experiences,” helps establish Airbnb as a hospitality brand. “Experiences,” currently available in San Francisco and Paris, lets you sign up for activities like guided city tours, nature hikes, food and drink tastings and more. If the program takes off, being an Airbnb “host” may not require you to have an apartment or space to rent – you could instead be an amateur chef, tour guide or teacher. “Experiences” is a win-win for everyone involved – it makes Airbnb and its users more money and gives travelers more to do. Whether or not “Experiences” expands to more markets remains to be seen. But if you’re planning a trip to Paris or San Francisco and you’re looking for something to do, check out Airbnb’s offerings.
