Shelly Palmer Radio Report – March 1, 2013

The next time you pop into a store to buy something, you might just get rung up on an iPad. Square, the company behind the super simple way of using an iDevice to accept payments, recently announced they’re going to sell what they call the “Business in a Box.” For just under 300 bucks, a company will receive two Square readers, which are little credit card swipers that plug into an iDevice, as well as an iPad stand and a cash drawer. Square will also offer a package that adds in a receipt printer for just under 600 bucks. A few months back, Starbucks made big news when it announced that all credit card transactions in its stores would be run through Square. With iDevices and mobile payment becoming more and more popular, Square’s “Business in a Box” seems like a good opportunity for small business owners to show their customers that they’re ready to succeed in our connected world.
