Did you know roughly 1 in 5 phones accidentally wind up in a toilet? What’s the best way to try to save your most important gadget if this is its fate? A quick reaction is most important: Grab the phone right away! You can wash your hands later. Take a paper towel and try off as much external moisture as you possibly can. The next step depends on your type of phone. If you have an iPhone, toss it in a bag of rice and set it in a warm space, like near a window. If you have a phone with an easily removable battery, take it out and put each part of the phone – battery, back casing and the main part – in the bag of rice in a warm spot. Wait 24 hours, re-assemble your phone and try to power it on. If you’re lucky – and were quick to action – your phone should be just about back to normal. Good luck.
