Over time, your PC is going to slow down, no matter how much it cost. It’s the way things go in the tech world. But buying a new computer every few years to gain some speed is expensive and wasteful. Instead, there are a few ways to improve your computer’s performance without buying a whole new unit. One of the most noticeable ways to boost speed is by purchasing a solid-state hard drive to replace your existing hard drive. Solid-state technology, which features lightning fast reading and writing times, is still relatively expensive when compared to “normal” hard drives, but prices are constantly dropping. The going rate is about a buck per gigabyte of storage, which may seem like a lot until you see the difference: your computer starts up much faster, programs run smoother and your overall computer experience will be much improved. Not only did you just significantly improve your PC’s performance, but you don’t have to buy a new computer, either!
