Internet Explorer users beware: if you’re using IE 6, 7, 8 or 9 you may be vulnerable to hackers. Microsoft confirmed this week that hackers have been able to gain access to and take over PCs by exploiting a security flaw in the versions of IE 6, 7, 8 or 9. Only a small number of users have been affected, and most were exposed by visiting malicious websites. Microsoft has issued free security software for download on its website, but it’s only a temporary fix. The tech giant will have to release a new, secure version of the web browser and soon. Many security experts are advising users to use a different browser until Microsoft comes up with a real fix. Until it does I’d recommend using a free, downloadable browser, like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome and of course always be cautious of the links you’re clicking and the websites you’re vising no matter which browser you’re using.
