A federal court recently ruled that airport scanners were not a violation of the constitution and an acceptable form of search. However, the Transportation Security Administration violated the law by not providing a 90-day period for public customer feedback. Judge Douglas Ginsburg also stated that the radiation emitted by the scanners is well within acceptable limits. In other news, Rebekah Brooks, former chief executive of News International was recently arrested in London for suspicion of corruption and conspiracy charges. News International published the News of the World during her tenure, which is currently being accused of hacking into celebrities’ and crime victim’s phones. And finally, Apple won multiple patent disputes against HTC, including the data technology for detecting phone numbers in emails. The U.S. International Trade Commission’s ruling could also affect other Android phones with similar functionality. Apple stated that competitors should make their own technology, not steal it.
