Cybercriminals are exploiting Osama bin Laden’s death to trick people into visiting malicious websites. Scammers are also circulating infected messages on Facebook with links to videos and pictures. Similar scams pop up almost every time a major news story breaks, so always be aware of clicking suspicious looking links. In other news, a recent poll measured consumers’ perceptions of major companies and the tech industry ranked the highest. In the top ten were Google, Apple, Intel and Amazon.com, with high marks in social responsibility and workplace environment. Out of 60 companies measured, Google topped the chart and cable companies neared the bottom. And finally, people haven’t learned that what you put online can be accessed forever. Divorce lawyers are finding incriminating evidence on Facebook, with one survey linking the site to 1 in 5 divorces. Remember, technology is just a tool and it’s people who decide how to use it.
