Live Video Streaming On YouTube?
YouTube is testing a new platform that enables users to stream live video directly from the site. Broadcasters only need a computer, digital video camera and an Internet connection to start streaming live video. While a notable benefit for viewers is the ability to film themselves and post their reaction videos in real-time directly in the comment feed.
Barbie Gets Digital
Mattel’s latest Barbie Doll doubles as both doll and video recorder. Barbie Video Girl features a small camera lens on her chest that is made to look like a necklace, and a LCD view screen on her back. The Barbie Video Doll recorder retails for $50 and is targeted for girls six and older.
The Boxee Box
Boxee joins Apple TV and Google TV with the release of their new set-top box, The Boxee Box. The Boxee Box streams HD video from the Internet to the TV and enables users to surf the web from their television screen. Set for release in November, The Boxee Box will is priced at $200 and is currently available for pre-order.
Mom Too Busy Playing Video Game To Feed Kids
A U.K. mother became so obsessed with the computer game Small World, that she stopped feeding her three children hot food and neglected to feed her two dogs, which eventually died of starvation. The 33-year-old went from playing the game for an hour each day to only resting two hours each night. The woman has been charged with child cruelty and animal neglect.
