The FCC’s latest plan for nation wide broadband will bring 100 megabits per second to approximately 100 million households in the US. The FCC hopes that its plan “will set goals for the U.S. to have the world’s largest market of very high-speed broadband users.”
HBO is readying its first move into online video. HBO GO, the subscription channel’s new offering, will reportedly be available to users in the coming months. As part of Time Warner’s TV Everywhere initiative, HBO Go would bring movies and its signature shows to the web, however, in order to view content on HBO GO you will have to subscribe to the cable version of the channel.
HTC just unveiled three new smart phone devices. Both the HTC Desire and the HTC Legend will be powered by Google’s Android operating system, while the HTC HD Mini will run on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5. Backed with HTC’s Sense interface, the new smart phones can pull in news feeds from a variety of social networks and display them as one, effectively aggregating ones digital life into a specific stream.
