Instagram rolls out new Web profile pages

Instagram is expanding to the Web with profile pages, a feature that’s been long-requested by the social network’s users. “You’ve asked for Instagram on the web and we’ve listened,” Instagram announced in a company blog post. “Over the next few days, we’ll be rolling out Instagram profiles on the web!” It should, however, come as no surprise that the pages look an awful lot like the profile pages on Facebook, which bought Instagram in a mega-deal announced in April. In fact, the profiles will look quite a bit like the Facebook “Timeline” layout, with a large display at the top of the page that appear to showcase seven of a users’ favorite picture — one that is larger than the others.
